What is the difference between CD Duplication and CD Replication?
CD Duplication is the industry standard process for producing short runs of CDs (i.e. less than 1000 units). It involves using printed, superior CD-R media to make many copies without large setup costs. CD Replication differs from CD Duplication in that there are large setup costs, but low production costs. CD Replication is therefore only suitable for orders of 1000 units and more. A typical CD product you would buy from a music retailer will be a replicated CD.
Do the prices include or exclude VAT?
All prices on the site include VAT and exclude delivery. Prices given by the quote calculator are fully broken down.
How much is delivery?
Most delivery costs are £13 - £15. This is for a delivery of up to 10-15KG. Smaller items such a pack of 25 CDs can be sent at a lower price. All delivery costs depend on weight, number of boxes, quantity ordered and the postcode and country of delivery. Please enquire before you order, unless you have obtained a quote from the quote calculator, in which case it has already been included.
How much profit do you make on delivery charges?
Unlike many companies, we do not mark up our courier charges. The price we charge you is the same price that the courier charges us.
Can I collect my items?
We do not have the capacity to deal with lots of clients visiting our premises to pick goods up at present. We hope to be able to offer this in the near future. However, we may be able to arrange for you to pick your goods up if it is a small package (e.g. 50 custom CDs on a spindle).
What is Mastering?
Mastering is the final process performed on an audio track before duplication. It makes all the tracks nice and loud, all the same volume where appropriate and makes them sound much more professional. It is essential to a good sound and first time customers are often amazed at the difference it can make.
Do you offer mastering from analogue tape?
All our mastering is performed in the digital domain, but we can transfer your tracks from cassette tape first (see 'Cassette to CD Transfer' from the menu above) and then master your material from there. We cannot, however master material from reel to reel tape at the present time. We do hope to offer a service from 1/4" tape in the future, along with a restoration facility so stay tuned.
What format do my mixes need to be in so that they can be mastered?
Your mixes need to be on CD, DVD or Cassette Tape. Professional mixes always peak at -3db and for the best results yours should too, although we can rescue it if it does not meet this requirement. You should note, however, that the more time we have to spend getting your mix to this starting point, the less time we will have to spend on making your music sound as good as possible.
I am designing my CD cover myself. What size and format should I make it?
You must use our templates to design your cover and on-body print. Download them from the "Artwork Templates" page.
